After having a slow growing practice for a year I decided to join AMC in April of 2006. At my first boot camp I immediately liked what I was hearing, it was their ethics, honesty and conviction that sold me. Before joining AMC my mindset was in a place where I thought that I would have to work 4-5 years before seeing the success that I have had. Mindset…this is something that I think AMC thrives in. They have taken me from thinking like a poor chiropractor with all the insecurities that come with that and have transformed me into a more confident and goal setting chiropractor and in return I get to help so many more people.

Within the first three months I had doubled my collections, and within 1 year I have quadrupled my collections, which I should have quintupled but was a little short! I only wish that I had started with AMC, instead I wasted a year trying to re-invent the wheel.

Dear AMC,

I just wanted to let you know how much I respect and appreciate my coach, Dr. Tapia. There have been multiple occasions which he has made recommendations that I was hesitant to follow thru with. In the back of my mind, it was “that won’t work in MY practice, or he doesn’t understand my situation”. In reality, it was fear of change that was really talking. One specific example involved his advice to make a change in my office staff. I was concerned about making the change, but he assured me by saying a similar thing occurred in his office in the past. I took a leap of faith and followed thru. Wow, what great advice. Although the transition wasn’t easy, I’m amazed by the improvement in the “feel” of the office. I can’t thank him enough. Every recommendation that I have implemented has been very positive for my practice. Also, I have coaches in the past. I hope prospective members don’t think this program is like the rest. I have never had a coach that took such a personal interest in me and the practice. I know that he is coaching because he loves what he is doing, and wants to see others succeed. It is also nice to talk to a successful doctor that has gone thru what I am going thru.

I started with AMC in April of 2006 and it has been a journey…Don and I had a lot of tough decisions to make for our lives and those lives which we were now responsible, our two toddlers, his mom with Alzheimer’s that was progressing quickly, my mom who was rendered an invalid by cervical spinal surgery 15 years before. AMC was the hook I needed to hang onto my chiropractic dream because it was being overshadowed by life’s other circumstances.

On attending my first boot camp, I thought “You mean there are people that dare to think outside the box and follow their hearts like I do?” Here they were. I liked the big nuts come to the top philosophy because it said a world about my outlook on life. I was where someone Dr. Tom Owen was already pointing the way for me in chiropractic, showing me how to get it done. However, was I at the place where I could ask myself “Can I handle it?” Dr. Jon Link caught me staring off into space at one of the meetings and let me know it was going to be alright. I couldn’t even smile then, too many thoughts of “Now how exactly am I going to pull this all off?” In May is when my coach must have wondered why is this office not producing, so I got a dose of the AMC method of “Call me at 6 in the morning” because you must rise early, you know. Well, I was obedient, I would rise and make the call and…go back to bed. I was physically exhausted from caring for these 4 individuals. One who would pace the house all night, one who didn’t want to sleep until midnight…and then the toddlers.

During her three weeks in South Carolina, I got my mom’s blessings on AMC. She was the one listening to the tapes, “The Made Up Mind” “Success in Your Routine” “Choices make Winners/Losers” and then relaying them to me. (Somebody had to listen to them, I was too busy) She said, “This is good, too late for me but not for you”. I remember looking puzzled, but understanding now that she just knew she was at the end of her time here.

Here comes the roadblocks now. The devil said “Oh no you don’t get that easily, you’re too close to where God wants you, too close to your dreams”. And the Lord must have said “I have another Job for you, try her”. The events unfolded as follow, Don’s mom had to be put in a nursing home for the physical and emotional safety of the toddlers, my mom had to be moved in top speed from Florida to South Carolina because she now couldn’t move at all. From this fall out we had a consecutive flow of deaths, first my mom in June 2006, my uncle July 2006 then my brother tragically November 2006. Now what? It was as if someone had dropped a hot potato in my hand and if I stopped moving it would burn right through. One musician wrote “Sometimes he calms the storm and other times he calms His child”. Ever so true. I don’t think I missed a beat. Thanks to AMC.

Distraction from life’s circumstances came in the form of AMC and chiropractic. Dr. Ciavola, AMC member saw fit to hand me a package of the first three visits, by forms, organized. I couldn’t sit still to even get organized in the office. I can usually get anything done if I put my mind to it. I worked hard at not looking back and pressing on to my goal. My course was already charted. I had patients to serve and again one of those AMC saying comes to mind “You cannot be depressed serving others, only when you chose to withdraw”. I started reading that phrase every morning when I entered the office, keeping focus. I was choosing to not give sadness a place in my daily routine.

The story of my life is, that I am born with expectations placed on me to produce. When taking some exam in college I remember telling my brother how most of my classmates were failing and it didn’t look good. His response was “What does that have to do with you? That was not how you were raised for”. Nuff said. AMC has become the force behind that expectation now. Two of those driving forces my mom and my brother have been removed physically, now AMC has become the force behind that expectation. I am again in the position where there is no option but to produce good fruit, there are no excuses. Thank you Coach Seymour. Thank you AMC. It shall be done.

Dear AMC,
I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you have done for me and for my practice. I guess that in order to understand how far I have come, you have to know where I have been. I graduated in October 2003 from Palmer College of Chiropractic ready to go to work helping people like I had been taught in class but knowing very little about practice, so I thought the logical thing to do was associate. I started my journey in Dixon, IL with an AMC doctor but found that the northern Illinois climate was a bit too harsh for this southern Illinois girl…tell them how great a difference in climate there is between the top of the state and the bottom, Dr. Osborne. I also am the last of seven children and have aging parents, so I wanted to be closer to home. Luckily, I thought then, my field doctor had an opening at her satellite clinic in McLeansboro, IL, which was an hour from home. I soon found myself smack dab in the middle of an associateship nightmare. Allow me to draw you a mental picture of the “office”: Picture a 1960’s mobile home with a carport built over it. I think you could’ve made a sandcastle with the amount of dirt that was ground into the vintage carpet, not to mention that a hole had worn not only through the carpet just as you entered the adjusting room, but also in the floor below. I was granted enough money and the spare time in the office to paint the paneling lavender…a color that spoke to my innate if no one else’s…Are you starting to get a good mental picture? I started practice there in April of 2004 and by Memorial Day the bank had called to let me know that my paycheck was no good for the first time. This continued about every two weeks for the entire summer and fall. I had never had a job in which it was more stressful to go to work on payday than it was to go to the dentist office for a root canal. I was to the point that each payday, I was nearly physically ill worrying whether the check would bounce. Needless to say this doctor WAS NOT WITH AMC!!! I spent my time angry and upset not only with my boss, but also with myself for doing nothing about it. I thought so many times about quitting. I had the letter of resignation ready and my list of reasons together, but I didn’t think that I could afford to quit, and I especially hated to leave my patients with no one reliable to take care of them. Finally, after Christmas that year, I had my fill. With two more bad checks, I decided it was time to call AMC and get some forward momentum going. After my first bootcamp back in January 2005, I realized just how far off base I had really gone in practice and in life in general. I had no goals for myself anymore or for what I saw my practice being. I also recognized that I had several “anchors on my tail” and very little “wind in my sails”. That was tough. Many days I felt as if I had no one on my side besides AMC. I had joined on with the Right Start division of AMC, so we chose a town and were in the process of choosing a location when I realized that before anything was to be accomplished as far as the office was concerned, I was going to have to make some huge changes in my head and in my life. Feeling rather poor, in April I made the decision to help a chiropractor friend in town who was pregnant with triplets to make some money until I got my practice together. I had offered to help her in any way that I could, but I didn’t realize exactly what that would entail. I guess that meant working in her office like her and being paid the same salary that she was paying herself, which was less than the cost of two adjustments plus therapy per day. I was seeing 40-50 people a day, so something just didn’t quite add up for me there. After several weeks of being too afraid to ask her for more, she finally came in for an adjustment and I approached her asking for a certain dollar figure that I thought was fair. Well, obviously she didn’t think it was fair and paid me $25 dollars a day less than that for my remaining time there. Now I’m not in chiropractic for the money, but even if money is merely the shavings of a good carpenter’s tools at work, I was whittling skyscrapers and not even making a mess. She finally returned to work in October of 2005…you don’t think that I had the nerve to tell her to find other help if I didn’t have the nerve to ask for fair pay now, do you? At some point I realized, I WAS A DOORMAT FOR EVERYONE. I had become everyone’s garbage dump and instead of doing something about it, I had silently let myself believe not only that it was good enough, but also that it was somehow what I deserved. Life changed dramatically once I saw that no one was going to change any of it for me. I was under the impression that I could only change one thing at a time, so I worked on my own head first, reading the positive materials that my coach recommended and listening to the Success in Your Routine and Made Up Mind tapes nonstop. Little did I know how much everything would change when I changed that one thing. I scrapped my entire search in the town I had been looking previously and restarted everything from square one and of the three towns I described for AMC, they picked my hometown as the best one to open an office in. I wasn’t exactly thrilled about that. I thought no one there would take me seriously, when the real problem was that I wasn’t taking myself seriously. Once I did, doors opened where it seemed only brick walls had stood before. One of my biggest fears was asking for the money to get the office started. Between my own calculations and those of AMC, I determined that between start-up and operating capital I would need $100,000. I had never really asked for that much money for anything before. When I sat down with the man from the bank and he started thumbing through my bank proforma, he was truly amazed. His exact words were, “If this chiropractic thing doesn’t work out, you may want to go into business consulting, because this is the best business plan that I have ever seen.” That put me a bit more at ease (thanks again). I was introduced to a developer who was interested in revamping my sleepy little town of 8000. It took more time than I ever expected, but we eventually came to an agreement to break ground on the office in January of 2006. In the meantime, my husband told me to leave. I guess the positive changes I had made in myself were not changes that he could live with. I never told my coaches about all of the personal hell I was going through. I just couldn’t choke the words out. I felt if I did, I was making excuses for myself, and I refused to do that. After all I had seen many, many people come to the bootcamps who were in worse shape than I was. Finally, in June of last year my new office was completed. I had planned to open June 5th, but due to some x-ray difficulties was unsure whether that date was going to work. At noon on the Friday before, I was given the guarantee by the x-ray installer that my machine would be functional, so we scrambled to print out, fold, and send our survey letters to all 1100 people who we surveyed to let them know. We got just over half of them sent out that day and the others went out on Saturday. The newspaper’s deadline for the Monday ad was the prior Thursday, so not knowing if I would have functional x-ray equipment, I had postponed the ad to the following Monday. We opened that Monday with no sign on the building and no number in the phonebook, none the less from June 5-30 we saw 103 new patients and collected right around $15,000. This past week of January 22-26 was a record setter for us. We had a goal of 200+ patient visits per week, $7500+ in collections, and 12+ new patients per week that we just couldn’t seem to break through. With the changes that we made after the meeting the weekend right before, we were able to see 215 patient visits, collect over $9200, and see 16 new patients! I am looking forward to reaching our next goal, which will include the expansion of our office and will lead to the addition of an associate in our clinic.

We enjoy every day serving our patients and chiropractic. We had our first patient appreciation day in October and enjoyed seeing 89 of our patients on Tuesday and 21 new patients and lives to change through chiropractic on Thursday. I learn more and more every day and every meeting, and I expect that with AMC and God on my team, the sky is the limit. I look forward to my coach calls every week with Dr. Wampfler. She is truly a fine person, an invaluable coach, and an inspirational example. I don’t think I could ever thank her enough for all of her guidance and support. I also had great Right Start coaches. Mike and Dr. Rashidian both were positive forces and invaluable resources as I was getting things organized to locate a town and a location and to open the office. There has never been a request or question that AMC hasn’t had an answer for. I thank God every second for AMC because I know that not only would my practice not be what it is now, but it would still be just a dream in chiropractor’s muddled mind without you. Thank you for your support and acceptance from the beginning, through the opening, and into the future as we continue on this great journey. Thank you for giving me the tools to change my mind and my life forever. Thank you for helping me help more people and change more lives that I could have ever dreamed. I feel the need to write to you all and tell you how lucky and blessed I feel to have found such a wonderful, up-standing group of chiropractors who really do want to see others in our profession succeed.

When I attended Sherman College, a program was in place that allowed senior interns who had completed their clinic requirements early to participate in an extern program where they would shadow a chiropractor in the field for the last quarter of school. Through this program I found Dr. Chris Musacchio and ultimately you. I was so impressed with him and his staff, how his office ran, and how much fun they seemed to have doing it. Being the “sponge” that I was while I was in his office, I asked him if he were able to go back in time and open his practice all over again, what would he do differently? He looked me straight in the eye and told me that he wished he had known about AMC.

Shortly after graduating Sherman I took his advice seriously. Through you, your Right Start program, your coaches—Dr. Chris Rush and Dr. Ava Carter, your seminars, your tapes, your instructions and all your encouragement, I am ecstatic to report that I have been open for just shy of three months and have already earned the right to wear my first ribbon at AMC at the upcoming seminar.

Having been exposed to other chiropractic management groups throughout my journey, I must admit that prior to externing with Dr. Musacchio, I was leery of the idea of joining one. But your company put all my anxieties to rest. Your logo of “We’re here to help chiropractors” is not just a slogan, it is the truth. You have helped me reach goals that I did not think possible until I “expanded my pan.” I am having fun, my staff is happy, my family is in amazement. My husband tells others how happy I am when I come home in the evening and how I wear on my face the fulfillment I’m experiencing. I am building the practice of my dreams.

Dear AMC,

I have been with AMC since September 2003 and have had great changes along the way. When I first started with AMC. I was sharing space with another chiropractor that did not follow the procedures learned from AMC. In that office I was only able to do the doctor protocols of the consultation, exam, and reports. I didn’t have x-rays and had to refer them out. Even there I had great growth starting at close to $2000 collections and within 6 months I collected over $10,000 in one month. I didn’t have an influx of new patients but I kept the patients through care plans rather than just treating pain and having them leave after just a few visits. I remained in that office for another two and a half years until opening my own office about one year ago.

In the past year I have seen the benefits of the full AMC. protocols and office procedures. Before I had one room the do everything, and in my new office I was able to use a separate room for the consultation, and separate exam room. I have an x-ray unit to do my own films. All of these have made such an improvement in the patient’s experience in my office.

More than just rooms the biggest affect has been having staff trained in all the CA procedures taught by AMC. I had never trained a CA before and I had all the resources of AMC. to use such as the training DVD’s and visiting a Training Center located about an hour away.

In the last year all the stats have been changing too. The most I had been able to se in one week prior to opening my own location was about 75 visits. Last week I saw 152 visits, a new best, and I had taken a day off and did that in 4 days. The past month I collected over $20,000.

I am so grateful to AMC. for all that I have learned and for the growth my practice has had. I don’t have the same stresses as before such as how am I going to pay the bills. I can focus on helping patients get well. And with a system of patient management, I am able to have a pattern to follow to allow efficiency for patient treatment. I know AMC. has made the growth I have had possible and I am thankful that they will be there for my continued support as I continue to grow and develop.

Dear Tom Owen:
I wanted to drop you a short letter about how AMC has helped me during a recent unplanned office move. Before I do so, I want to tell you a little bit about me and how I came to join with AMC.

I had taken over a practice from a doctor who decided to retire after 51 years in practice. I would estimate that about 50% of his patients went to see other chiropractors, including his son who had an office 15 miles away. For 2 ½ years, I struggled with growing my practice. Most patients that came in would only be interested in “band-aid” care. They seemed to be in control of my practice, and I no longer enjoyed what I was doing.

In May of 2005, I knew that something needed to change. I was ready to give up on being in business for myself. I was ready to “let someone else be the boss,” and just be a chiropractor. This is what I had thought that I had gone to school for.

I made appointment to talk to other chiropractors in the area to see if they could give me any suggestions. They all told me the same thing, “It takes about 5 years to build a practice.” At the rate I was going, I would not last the 5 years. One of the last chiropractors that I spoke with gave me one of your CDs to listen to. I was amazed to hear the number other doctors that have gone through the same things as I have. I was starting to realize there might be hope.

Before calling AMC, I had placed a call to The Masters Circle. I was a fan of Dr. Hoffman’s after hearing him speak when I was in college. I wanted to see what they had to offer. After speaking with one of their representatives, I was told that I should not even sign with them until I had about six months worth of their fees in the bank. I told him that I did not have $2500 in the bank, and that if I did, I would not be calling them for help. He told me that I had a poverty complex, and that I should call when I was over this.

I called AMC, and eventually spoke with Dr. MacNamara. He informed me that it was very important that I attend the next boot camp in Salt Lake City. I made the trip, and was impressed with what I had heard. I went out with the attitude that I might as well join since I didn’t have anything to lose. I joined because I was presented with a system that has been proven to be effective over time.

I did not immediately implement the procedures as we were instructed to do. I wanted to wait until after the 4th of July holiday since I was having an x-ray machine installed. For the final six months of 2005, I had an increase of 60% in both services and collections over the first six months of the year. For the entire year of 2005, I had an increase of 30% in total services and collections.

Things were starting to become easier financially. Like a lot of people, I had a period of complacency and laziness. I was hit and miss with a lot of procedures. As a result, the first seven months of 2006 was a bad roller coaster ride. I had no idea how bad things were going to be in the near future.

In August of 2006, things were turned upside down. My landlord handed me a letter letting me know that I had 30 days to vacate the premises. I was surprised to say the least! No amount of talking was going to change his mind. So, I had less than 30 days to find a new place, get the place ready to go, and get everything moved in. In addition to this, my secretary decided that it was time to retire.

I eventually decided to do an office share with another chiropractor in the area. He had a little over 600 square feet of space that he was not using. I would build-out this area for my reception room, front office, and consultation room. I am using an adjusting room that he had not been using. We are sharing the therapy area and exam/x-ray room.

The build-out took a lot longer than I had ever anticipated. It took me a total of three months to complete everything. During this time, my coach, Dr. Wellman, told me that my practice would go down. I had no clue how far down it would go. He instructed me to listen to the “Made up Mind” tape every day during this time to help keep my mind focused. I think I only averaged maybe listening 2-3 times a week.

In October, I had even considered quitting all together. In November, I had the worst month ever in collections at just $1100. I continued to plug away with the support of my family and Dr. Wellman. He never once gave up hope on me.

We finally finished everything, and had an open house on December 1. It was if a huge weight was lifted off of my shoulders. I could now focus on my patients instead of worrying about what work still needed to be completed.

As 2006 came to a close, Dr. Wellman had me lay out my goals for 2007. He set a collection goal for January of $4000. By the time the month of January was over, I had collections of over $4600. This was a 55% increase over my collections for the month of December, and 10% over the goal that was set by Dr. Wellman. I was over my base for the first time since August, which is when all of this began.

Dr. Wellman sent me the Rejuvenation Plan tape. He wanted me to listen to the tape. I started everything that was outlined in the tape on March 5. I came up with a new set of goals for the rest of this year. Needless to say I was shocked at what I had written. I now know what I need to do to follow through to achieve my goals.

In closing, I want to thank everyone at AMC, especially Dr. Wellman. If I did not have AMC’s procedures or training tapes, I may not have ever lasted through this period of time.

Dear AMC Home Office:

I am writing this letter today to say thanks for so many things. I joined AMC back in November 2006 and it has completely changed my concept of what I thought was possible from my practice. I had only been in practice for a couple of months before I joined AMC, but it was long enough that I was already starting to get frustrated.

I was already getting pushed around by my patients. I ran my practice out of fear. When a patient came to me, I was almost begging them to stay for at least six visits. I was compromising my ideas of what they needed for what I thought I could convince them to pay for. I was already unhappy and wondering if this is really what I wanted to do.

After joining and working with Dr. Randall I have done a complete 180 in my practice. I still have a long way to go, but I have made huge improvements. Now I am the ultimate authority in my own office. I have now turned patients away (a long way from almost begging them to stay). I tell them what they need and let the chips fall where they may. Last week I signed up 8 new patients for year long treatment plans. Even I am amazed at my own attitude change. My receptionist says the quality of my patients has changed as well.

I know I still have lots to work on, but even with what few changes I have already made I know that my practice is only going to grow to new limits. I still have my bad day, but that is where Dr. Randall has really helped me. He is a superior coach. With weekly assignments and goals my concepts are continually expanding. I now have the confidence to look people in the eye and tell them that I don’t care what their insurance covers this is what they need and they trust me, because I am speaking with the authority that they want in their doctor. Dear AMC Family,

Thank you, Thank you, and Thank you. I cannot say that enough.

I went to my first boot camp in January 2007 in Atlanta. I knew driving down there that I was going to join up. I just had that feeling. I was struggling and very unhappy in my practice. I work with my father and was actually considering leaving the office and going out on my own because practice was so miserable. My thought was that it has to be this office that’s holding me back.

Well boot camp forced me to take a good look at myself and my beliefs. It made me realize that my frustrations had nothing to do with where I was practicing and everything to do with what I was practicing. I had pretty much forget about the word subluxation. It had been replaced with facet syndrome and spondylolisthesis. I was a pain doctor, six visits and done.

I returned to the office on Monday and totally committed myself to the program. I have implemented as much as possible and the results have been phenomenal. In March I exceeded my highest previous month for patient visits by 150. I am also about 5000 dollars higher in my collections and about 10000 dollars higher in my services charged. Patients want what I can give them and they are willing to pay whatever it take to fix there problems. No more begging and pleading for compliance because due to the CER’s, they now understand.

My experience since joining AMC at the end of July has been outstanding. AMC is in a class by itself; they fully understand that it is purely about the basics and that all else follows. The staff and coaches are quick to respond to any question and are always willing to go the extra mile.

At the Atlanta seminar this November I attended the workshop part of the seminar. This experience was incredible. The format was completely interactive and we each had something to add and something to learn.

The coaches that ran the classes were great! They took notes, guided the viewing doctors on what was good and what needed improvement, all the time never striking a negative chord with anyone. It was a safe and effective learning environment. The other great part of the workshop format was even with the variety of styles, experiences and level of practice, each person was able to gain from the class. Most importantly, all attitudes were checked at the door. It is refreshing to be in an environment where everyone truly cares and that the instructors were fully engaged.

I look forward to gaining more knowledge and experience as well as watch my practice grow. I know regardless of what is happening in the health care world, that success will be mine.

I just finished up a great day! I had three final reports and I was very stressed out trying to remember everything I needed to say. But, it all worked out beautifully. I am so impressed with AMC that words cannot express. Everyone signed up for care and I guess I did well with the reports because Amy had no trouble when she gave the financials. It was a busy day but it was energizing. Amy was so happy she almost cried.

Dear Coach,

What an amazing transformation that has taken place in our practice! About 7 weeks ago we were struggling with reaching our goal of 120 PV Week. You advised me to just keep on following the protocol, and that there was no such thing as a glass ceiling, just keep on with it! Well we did and the next week we saw 126 PV continued to break our goal of 120/week. We then set our goal for 130 and hit it, we then set our goal for 140, well we passed 140 actually hitting 150 PV last week. Obviously there is no glass ceiling. In this incredible increase in PV protocol began to be compromised. Therefore we are going back to basics to strengthen them –CER—5 Pt OV.

Before we did not realize the power in these procedures—never, never vary from protocol.

One last thing, Barbara is the wind in my sails. What an amazing addition she has made.
We have only had one 500 PV month, that was in 1999 and was isolated. Last month we were over 500 and are easily on track to be well over 500 for this month.

I don’t want to be like the man throwing the big fish back in because his frying pan was too small. We are making changes in the way we handle patients and have been able to handle the increase in patients with less stress and effort than when we were seeing 80 PV/week.

Your guidance and help has been greatly appreciated, as the Lord leads we want to be prepared to follow.

I’m sure that with all of the good things happening in your current client’s lives, you don’t have a shortage of testimonials coming your way but I’ve been thinking that I need to write you a testimonial of the lasting impact your company has had on my life.

I realize that your company’s objective is to help chiropractors and then to maintain that relationship throughout the years. I wanted to write a testimonial on what I thought the POC class has done not only for our office but what it has done for Dr. Crowe and myself. I think it has put in our minds the good things our office does for our patients and our community and that we have great success with our patients. It also shares success stories and the power of chiropractic with our new patients, their friends and their loved ones. They have more hope for their health because they see first hand the improvement that we have given to our patients. For some of them that is more hope than they have received from any other health professional.

That inspires us to share the message of chiropractic to more people and teaches them how to share it as well. Dear AMC Family,

I am proud to share with you the results of our 1st Annual Patient Appreciation Day!

This was the single most successful promotional event we have done since the inception of my practice.

In the twelve years this practice has existed (the last 2 under my ownership) the highest patient visits in a day were 38. On 11/15/06 we treated 43!

We usually receive 6 to 10 new patients, all referrals, per month. On 11/17/06 we started 11 new patients, 17 total!!!

On 11/15/06 we gave away $2580 of services and actually received $1820 of payments for previous care!

In summary, we spent $347 to make PAD happen. All new patients have been scheduled for their next visit (R1), which will bring $2295. If all the new patients accept care plans, and we expect them to, this will bring $23,460!!!

The greatest lesson of this event for me is that people in my community truly value the service we have to offer. The result is greater opportunity for us to enhance quality of life through chiropractic care!!!

Dear AMC,
WOW! These protocols really work! I joined AMC in the beginning of October and I need to relate this story.

On Thursday, 11/2/06, Mrs. R came into my office in the morning to make an appointment for her husband that afternoon. She said he was getting a massage next door and would like an adjustment following the message (he would be a new patient). I said that would be fine and made a 4:30 appointment.

During the consultation, Mr. R established his chiropractic history as seeing any random chiropractor for 2-3 visits for symptomatic relief. This would happen every six months to a year. At the present time, he was suffering from sciatica, and it was getting worse (he was expecting to get adjusted). He is 55 years old. I followed the AMC protocols for exam and x-rays and told him to re-schedule the following day. He then said he was leaving town and could not come back until the following Thursday. A whole week to suffer with sciatica! Before AMC, I would have adjusted him right then, but I explained that with a condition as serious as his, I would be negligent by adjusting him without careful study of his films. I then told him how to ice, not sit too long, etc… and scheduled him for the following week. I actually let him go, which was difficult for me.

On Thursday, 11/9/06, Mr. R came for the 1st report and brought his wife, as instructed. After the report, Mr. R said that the only reason he did not go elsewhere to get adjusted is because I DID NOT adjust him and took his condition seriously. His wife made an appointment on the way out, and they have both accepted my long-term care plans and are happy to pay for it.

My first three years in practice, 1958 to 1961, I was supported by my schoolteacher wife and we were expecting our third child. Fortunately an old friend practically dragged me to The Parker Seminar in Texas and if nothing else, I discovered positive thinking. I also became aware of office procedures and practice building. It was to be the end of the drought of an end to feelings of guilt and failure. I doubled my income in one year. My wife quit her job.

I met Napoleon Hill, and read his book and thought and grew rich. I read “It Works” and it does. I read Psycho-Cybernetics and learned more about bringing into my life what I thought about. I also read Three Magic Words by U.S. Anderson, it became my bible.

After a relaxing breakfast with my older brother, he asked this question, “How is it that we grew up in the same home with the same parents and the same opportunities and you are doing so much better than I.” I replied without really thinking about it, this way, “John, I am a child of God and he put me here to enjoy all of the riches of the world.”

Opportunities came my way and my fortune was made by the time I was forty five. I owned a third share of a one hundred bed nursing home, built luxury condominiums and was enjoying the “insurance years” with my practice.

Three Magic Words taught me that I have a part of God in me and to the extent that I believe and have faith, I can do and be and have anything that I desire. Things would come to me just by thinking that they would. Things would happen in such miraculous ways just by knowing that they would. I was riding high and felt as thought I had reached the stars. I had my regular morning meditations, I monitored my thoughts for negativity and thanked God every day for his Blessings, I knew where it was all coming from.

Then the distractions that Dr. Owen talks about started to come my way. Trouble with the kids, I have four. An unhappy marriage. The end of the “insurance years”. Building a luxury home in Florida. Finally a divorce after thirty nine years, estrangement from three of my four children, certainly enough to take my mind off my practice. I seemed to lose my “spiritual side” and suddenly I was “working” at making things to happen and they weren’t. I was adrift and helpless.

For many months another dear friend was telling me to listen to tapes that he was getting from AMC and I deferred by referring to them as “Southern Baptists” and not what I was looking for.

God was not giving up on me and so I received a nice letter from a local colleague about AMC. We lunched, I attended a Boot Camp in February in Philadelphia and have been a family member since then. Another miracle? Not quite. It has been a struggle of sorts but I have a lot of misinformation to get out of this old head. But I have a coach, Tony Seymour and he is my blessing. Along with his AMC work he is bringing back my spirituality. He has introduced me to writers and speakers who are inspiri8ng me all over again as much as before and I know that this is just the beginning for me… all over again after fifty years in practice.

So, thank you God for bringing me to AMC and thank you AMC for Tony Seymour.

I am now setting goals that I wouldn’t have dreamed of even in the good hears. I know that I short-changed myself, my practice and profession. I just never asked for more than I thought I deserved. Now God is telling me that I can have it all and it’s a trip that’s worth taking. Instead of telling God how big my mountains are, I am telling my mountains how big my God is.

Dear AMC Family,

I just wanted to share with you some of the great things happening in my life since joining AMC in August, 2006. I will start with some of the things you always hear at the meetings. I have grown every month since joining. I set a collections record in October, and expect to break that record in December. November was the first month since opening in July of 2004 that I was in the black. While it was not by much, it was a great morale booster and one more sign that your system works. In the last month, I have had more patient visits per week than I did in an entire month previous to joining. And I have just barely begun to scratch the surface of the AMC system. But these are just the “shavings” of something bigger than that.

When I went to my first AMC boot camp, I was careericidal. It’s a word I’ve made up that means what it sounds like… I was killing my own career. I had more or less given up on chiropractic as a career (though not as a health care option) and was brainstorming for other career options. Truck driving ads started looking almost attractive. AMC has renewed my enthusiasm and passion for chiropractic and my hope for a successful career in a way I’ve never felt before. In fact, “hope” isn’t even the right word. I simply KNOW that I will be successful.

The other change I have noticed is the most important of all. The stress of an unsuccessful practice took its toll on me, and, as a result, the loved ones around me suffered too. I knew I needed to change something but just did not know how. After about 2 weeks of listening to the AMC CDs, I told my wife I felt like I was being brainwashed. She simply replied, “Good, you need to be brainwashed.” And, of course, she was right. My attitude has changed, my outlook on life has changed, and the way I deal with life and its challenges has changed. I am happy again. It is this happiness I am most thankful for. I have noticed the people around me are happier too. It is refreshing to be back to the “old me.” And while I know I did a lot of work (and have more work to do), I have to thank my wife, my coach Dr. Sooley and AMC for that. I couldn’t have done it without them.

I have heard testimonials like this at the boot camps but had a firm “I’ll believe it when I see it” attitude. Well, I AM seeing it, and life is good.

My name is Dr. Neil Cohen. I have been a practicing Chiropractor in the state of Florida for nearly 20 years. For the last 13 years along with my most dedicated staff member (my wife Randi) we have managed to run what I thought was a somewhat successful, subluxated based, principled chiropractic practice.

Over the years as the insurance landscape changed, we were even able to shift to the practice to mostly cash. For years I was pouring into all of my patients providing a thorough education on subluxation, while at the same time making it affordable, so they could receive the care I felt they richly deserved.

I put together a “system” of what I thought worked, and as I said there was some success on a certain level. So why was I burned out, feeling empty, used and just barely making ends meet?

Frankly I was not having the kind of fun that being a chiropractor should provide, nor was I making the income that I thought I should after 20 years of ethical practice. Then in May 2006 I had nothing less than a life changing weekend in Atlanta. After being introduced to AMC Family only 6 months ago my once stagnant, depleted, semi-successful practice is now thriving and alive, growing like it never had before. Office visists have nearly tripled and for the first time in years my wife and I can breathe financially.

To the good folks at AMC,

I was always secretly envious of the Docs who were so “lucky” that they could give a testimonial about how good life is. Well, to my amazement, it’s my turn. Last month was my sixth month in practice after beginning from scratch with Right Start. We met some major goals last month. All of our stats reached new high points: patient visits per day/week/month, care plans, referrals, and collections. I’m very excited to be wearing a feather in my cap during the next boot camp and will wear it with pride.

It’s been a long road, beginning last year in August. Set adrift in a new town with no idea what to do, a young family with another on the way, I began the adventure of planning the clinic. With the help of my coach, we nailed down a town and put the plant together. Using the techniques laid out by my many tapes and CD’s, we found a location and obtained funding. This in itself was a daunting task. Fresh out of school with a mountain of debt big enough to blot out the sun, we were not surprised when the NO’s starting rolling in. But I kept the faith and kept positive, listening to made up mind until the wheels on the tape squeaked, and persisted. After much blood sweat and tears, I obtained $30,000 to make it happen with. Build-out began immediately, and an AMC office was born.

January through April was spent in the wind and snow, rapping frozen knuckles upon metal doors. Staff was hired, the ad was placed, and we opened our doors April 10th, 2006. We had 21 new patients in April and close to that in May. After the initial excitement died down, new patients began to trickle in from events and referrals. Lately, that trickle has become a stream and we have had a steady influx of new patients the last few months. People are referring their friends and family. They keep telling us how good their experience here has been, not like the “other places” they’ve been to. I tell you, this AMC stuff, IT WORKS!

It’s probably on a tape somewhere already, but if it’s not, I want to add a new list: the four P’s. Procedure, Principals, Persistence, and Patience. The more I experience life as a doctor and business owner, the more I realize the importance of these elements. Thank you AMC for teaching me how to learn.

I know I’m not out of the woods yet, and there is a long road ahead, but I wanted to share “what’s been different”. I’m noticing that the more people I see and help, the more energized I become. Instead of lying awake at night and worrying, I find myself planning and organizing, stimulated by “4 am inspirations”. I’m a better husband, father, boss, and doctor. Like Edison said, the harder (and smarter) I work, the luckier I become. Life is good.

Dear AMC,

Let us just start by saying a big “Thank You!” After 10 years in practice and still feeling the frustration of not accomplishing what we knew we could in practice, we were all but ready to give up. The concept of leaving chiropractic was definitely in the back of my mind. (This is profound, considering I knew I wanted to be a chiropractor since I was about 11 years old.) All I ever saw was people getting well and the amazing stories of chiropractic so when my husband and I got out of school and began to practice you learn REAL FAST that is unfortunately not what makes a business work!

We had worked in different types of clinics so we did have a feel of things we wanted and didn’t want in a practice when we started one. We thought we had learned enough about the business side to begin our practice and in November 2004 we opened our office. After about 5 months we were pretty stagnant and knew there was better ways out there to “jump start” a practice. All I knew was if this practice didn’t work, I was going to explore other career opportunities. I was sick of struggling, stressing, defending myself to patients, fighting to get paid for my services and all the mental anxiety.

We had received one of AMCs tapes in the mail over that past weekend and for some reason my husband had not thrown this one away. (He told me we had been receiving those tapes for years!) I put the tape in while I was at the office on yet another WEEKEND working and not spending precious time with our child at home or enjoying a weekend for a change. I don’t think I got another ounce of work accomplished after I put the tape in. I sat there amazed… it was like listening to my husband and I.

We decided to go to the first boot camp, knowing full well we were going to do this all the way or not at all. From just sitting in the boot camp we knew this was different. Finally, someone explained the WHY you do things the way you do, no just “do this and you’ll be successful.”

We signed on in April 2005 at that boot camp. It has now been a little over a year and we have doubled or tripled in every area of our office and stats. It is truly exciting to see how far we have come in such a short amount of time. We have a long way to go, but with AMC’s system in place we WILL reach our goals. Thank you for helping us regain our purpose in practice along with the right mindset for success. We feel so bless and know God led us to AMC. The AMC family truly cares about its own. Our coach, Dr. James Brown, has been so amazing and inspiring to us. We look forward to his calls every week because he keeps us on course and motivated to continue to excel in business and in life. Prior to AMC, I was in an unhappy routine. I detested going to work! Not because I was unsuccessful, or my business was failing. My practice consisted of personal injury and worker’s compensation. I did very little adjusting, which was a great injustice for my patients. All of my patients were incentive based patients, that I felt was not really injured. Although I haven’t applied all the principles of AMC to my practice, I see a change. I am re-invigorated, and ecstatic about practicing chiropractic. It is a pleasure to wake up and go to the office. I have an outstanding coach in Dr. Conklin, who cares and wants my practice to grow. My personal relationship with my wife and kids are better. My kids say the cheer with me everyday! This past weekend we heard from one of our closest friends that their 3 year old daughter, Hannah, was in Children’s Hospital ICU. She went in Friday night after experiencing numerous febrile seizures and extreme behavior.

Hannah had flu like symptoms the prior Tuesday with excessive vomiting and a low grade fever. By Saturday she was in a near coma displaying all the symptoms of cerebral palsy. The staff at the ER didn’t even believe her mother when she told them that this was a normal little girl just days prior (they assumed she had autism). Sunday, Jim went down to the hospit5al to see the family (I didn’t go because I injured my knee the night before and was unable to walk with out assistance). He came back with terrible news. She was diagnosised with encephalitis, unknown cause, and her condition was deteriorating rapidly. He sadly reported, “There is a very high chance of permanent neurological damage if she survives”.

Feeling in my heart that this was a clear chiropractic case, I made several calls to the child’s mother to get her perception on the situation and see if she wanted Hannah adjusted (to the spite of the hospital staff). Her mother was very encouraged and we made arrangements to go down as soon as I closed the office. As a blessing from above, I happen to have my coach’s call with Dr. Conicello that afternoon. I asked him if he had ever treated cases of encephalitis, he responded, “dozens”! Asking of his protocol, he verbally instructed me of an adjustment I had never performed and, quite honestly, probably would have done the exact opposite.

I headed to the hospital, at which I have in the past made several enemies of the pediatric staff (long story). Walking in I happen to notice a complete remission of the knee injury which had me hobbled most that day.

Unfortunately, Hannah’s bed was in clear view of the nurse’s station and privacy was not an option. So I proceeded to adjust (as I was instructed by Dr. Conicello) this agitated little girl who couldn’t stop dry heaving and wasn’t even able to make eye contact. It was a very difficult and time consuming adjustment because of the awkward situation and inability to set up with out alerting the staff’s attention. After 15 minutes, though, she turned her head to the left for the first time in days. 30 minutes, she stopped dry heaving. 1 hour, she made some eye contact. 1.5 hours, she slept peacefully for the first time in days. I left.

I just received a call from Hannah’s mom. Hannah’s condition improved so much over the night that they took her out of ICU removed the feeding tube and is preparing to discharge her!!!

I praise the Lord for the gift of chiropractic! This little girl is going to make a full recovery!

I praise the Lord for AMC. I have no doubt there was a reason I hurt my knee and didn’t get to that little girl until I had the right information (fyi – I have had no pain or limp since leaving that hospital). I praise the Lord that AMC has some of the best chiropractors in the world that we can network and learn from! I hate to think what would have happened, had I performed that wrong adjustment, furthermore I can glory in the body’s ability to heal with the right one!!

I feel blessed to be part of a company with Godly people such as yourself. AMC is an answer to prayer. My practice got off to such a slow start, but it all worked out for the best and during the slow period I was able to minister in ways that I would not have been able to, if I was busy at the time. It was fine for a while, but I knew that something would have to change in my practice if it was to survive. I prayed for a solution and my confidence and faith in Christ never wavered. I received a testimonial CD from AMC in Nov. 2005, listened to it and knew that AMC was my answer. I’m a procrastinator (in recovery) so I didn’t take immediate action. I had perfect peace about the whole situation. I was trying to wrap this up and didn’t mean to go off on a tangent, but I get excited about AMC and I get excited when I see how God works in my life. I may have told you some of that story before. I can’t remember who I’ve told what to anymore. Anyway, God hasn’t changed and He’s always cared for me and guided me, but now I feel that I’m being brought into a place of abundance (not that I’ve ever lacked for anything). It was good for me to be in financial need and everything isn’t perfect yet, but because of my need, I’ve come to know God as Jehovah-Jireh (the LORD will provide) and I can tell anyone with total confidence that, “my God shall supply all your needs, according to His riches in Christ Jesus.” Of course I’m not saying I have arrived; all of us are “living stones being built into a holy temple” and God is still chipping away the rough edges of my life, but I’m “growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ” and there are still many lessons to be learned. Take care my friend and I pray God’s richest blessings upon you.

Dear AMC Family,

It is difficult for me to decide where to begin when explaining how AMC has changed my practice and my life. I opened my doors right out of Chiropractic College some 12 years ago and was extremely disappointed when the patients didn’t flock through them. I went door to door handing out cards and introducing myself. I did spinal screenings. I spent a small fortune on advertising. But the trickle of patient flow never became the flood I wanted. I came to the conclusion that it was chiropractic’s fault, not my own.

Many of my colleagues from Chiropractic College had changed careers, and though I didn’t consider myself a quitter, I did not believe that my practice would ever be able to support my family and provide the quality of life I wanted. I decided to begin another business on the side in order to obtain my financial goals. I cut my hours in the office to three days a week, and basically quit marketing myself altogether. I was averaging 30 patient visits a week, and kept my overhead low so id did help pay some bills. My other business began producing an income more to my liking, and began interfering with my practice. I came to a point where I had to make a decision to focus on one or the other.

I prayed and asked for guidance from the Lord, and faithful as he is, he provided. I was cleaning off my desk one day and came across not only one, but three AMC CD’s. I tossed two in the trash, but held on to one, thinking that one day I might listen to see what this AMC was. That same day I received yet another CD in the mail. What are the chances? I finally read the label on the disc and saw the scripture of Matthew 7:16 “You will know them by their fruits” and plugged the disc into the computer. The testimonials on that CD were scripted from my own life. I had lost the Big Idea. I had let Innate fall by the wayside. I wanted to by my patient’s best friend, and I allowed them to run my practice. No wonder I wasn’t enjoying myself. No wonder I wasn’t making any money. I was on the phone to AMC that day and spoke with Dr. MacNamara the following day. He informed me of a Boot Camp in Salt Lake City, and I committed myself to be there. That was the decision that changed my life. I knew it was the right decision when Dr. Black opened the meeting with prayer.

Everything about AMC is structured to strengthen and encourage the Doctor, the Staff and Chiropractic. I immediately began implementing the protocols as best I could. My initial goal was to double my collections and patient visits within 3 months. I doubled within 3 weeks. I committed myself to attend the very next Boot Camp in Atlanta. I learned even more and became more proficient with the CER’s and by the end of my second month as part of the AMC family I had nearly quadrupled my practice. Mind you this was with no external marketing. All I did was implement the AMC protocols with my existing patients and anyone that passed through my doors. They work. Patients I normally had been seeing 3-4 times a year were committing themselves to treatment plans, and even better pre-paying for their care. I was baffled. I was elated. I was kicking myself for letting those CD’s sit on my desk collecting dust when I could have been building the practice of my dreams. And most important I was getting these amazing results with honesty and integrity. Absolutely no false or immoral marketing schemes, just pure chiropractic profession. Dear AMC and coach Piche’,

I’m writing to you about all the changes in my life and practice since joining AMC. First in my personal life I have struggled with weight issues for years - up and down, by the time I joined AMC I weighed 305 pounds. I have listened to the made up mind tape about 50 times and I made up my mind, no excuses I changed my habits and daily routine to support a healthy lifestyle. To date I have dropped 35 pounds and am feeling great.

With the help of my coach Dr. Piche’ my practice has taken on a wonderful transformation. I have doubled my square footage, I have added X-Ray, I have hired two staff, my patient visits per month are up 64%, and my collections are up 62%.

AMC has showed me that I need to step up to the plate and be a better Chirorpactor. I am doing that, and I have been getting better results. I can’t wait to see what the next six months will bring.

Dear Dr. Owen, Tom Owen, Dr. Hitson and the entire AMC family,

Proverbs 23:23 “Buy the truth and do not sell it; get wisdom, discipline and understanding.”

This weekend was a weekend of truth. Dr. Hitson’s talk and the sharing time were invaluable. I hear some colleagues of mien that have bad things to say about paying money to their consulting firms. I run from that kind of talk and encourage the rest to do the same. What we pay to gain the truth, wisdom and understanding can’t be priced.

Robert Kyosaki said (paraphrased) “The worst advice is free advice.” So I thank all of you for the very precious knowledge that you pass on to us and all the blessings that this brings to us and our families. And what about the lives we then change in our practice. The CA’s that are blessed from all that we gain. Everything you give to us is given again ten fold.

I thank you. I thank you. I thank you!

I called the home office a couple weeks ago and as I was put on hold, I realized that it was my very own testimonial telling me all the things I needed to hear. I was so excited just a year ago to be collecting what we were collecting then. Now one year later we have more than tripled how many we serve and what we collect. I cried and cried because sometimes you just forget where God has brought you from and where he is taking you.

One thank-u letter is not nearly enough to give all that is due to all of you. IT is my prayer and goal that I may one day give back by helping others the way my AMC family has helped me… through coaching and help that is priceless.

Dear AMC Family/Dr. Carter,

Well, we’re coming up on our 2 year anniversary and we can say it has been a very fast and rewarding period of time. Prior to AMC, we were doing “lets make a deal” chiropractic. The patients were getting a deal and our income was taking a nose dive. Dr. Owen states “To pull a plane out of a dive, you need to put an even steady pressure on the stick.” By applying the AMC protocols, we have pulled our business out of that dive and we are headed toward the clouds. During the past 2 years, we have seen a lot of growth with less effort than ever before. We are now able to keep track of our patients and fewer are falling through the cracks. We have also learned that we cannot be everyone’s chiropractor even though we want to be. We now let the patients make the decision to get the care that they need and we have stopped trying to sell chiropractic care to our patients. It is so freeing to not have to be in a selling position. Prior to AMC we would spend a hour with a new patient and about half wouldn’t show up for the report. Now about 95% show for their report. The most amazing thing is seeing patients who come in with no hope (they cry during first report) and yet smile when they see their results after 1 month of care! How awesome is that! AMC has allowed us to remember why we do what we do. We now feel more confident and have more fun. Our staff is better trained and they get excited. Our patients are happier, get better results and now stick with their care plans. We still have a lot to learn and do but we’re ready! AMC states that even Tiger Woods has a coach. We are so happy to also have a coach (thanks Dr. Carter!!) and should have done this earlier than we did. With the end of our contract approaching soon, we have one question: when do we get our next contract?!!!

My husband and I wanted to thank you for all the changes that have happened in our life since I joined AMC. When I first became part of the AMC family, I had been in practice for 10½ months. During that time I had managed to dig myself a very deep hole both financially and mentally. You may recall that I gave a testimonial once that I talked about eating ramen noodles and hot dogs on a daily basis. It was a treat for us to have chilidogs on Sunday. I was not only working at my clinic, but also another clinic two days a week and I waitressed in the evenings and on weekends just to try to make ends meet. I was failing miserably. Because of the AMC family, my coach and God, I have changed my life around. I see over 500 more patients per month than I did before starting with AMC. I have slowly been filling that deep financial hole back in. I am able to take a paycheck home each week…what a concept. You can actually get paid for doing something that you love. My husband and I were able to save up and get married almost a year ago. At one point that seemed impossible. We bought out first house a few months ago and because of the concept that you teach at the bootcamps and in the tapes, my husband started a plumbing business at the beginning of this year. We continue to look forward to growing our businesses with the concepts that we have learned so far with AMC. Dear AMC,
I just wanted to write and express my profound gratitude to this organization. I am forever thankful to be a part of AMC. I have been a member since December 2004. I chose to wait a little while before writing this letter to be sure that it was not just an emotional letter written right after the excitement of my first seminar. I wanted to make sure when I wrote this that it was heart felt.

I have attended many management groups but never felt inclined to join any of them. Not one, ever put their money where their mouth was. Lots of lip service but nothing to back it up. Some were flat out unethical and embarrassing. SO when I heard my brother had joined AMC I was quite skeptical. He invited me to Atlanta and assured me that if I didn’t like it I could just leave. I took him up on his invitation and needless to say I didn’t leave. In fact Dr. Osborne, Dr. Johnson, and Dr. Saeli had me so glued to my seat I didn’t even want to leave to use the restroom. (Very rare for me to sit more then 20 minutes without being bored.)

I joined AMC and have been working very hard to implement everything I have been taught. My practice has grown steadily. My confidence has grown steadily. My patient control has grown steadily. What I am now realizing is that AMC has not only affected my practice, but every facet of my life. My confidence in and out of the office has grown. My family life and way I handle my children has even been affected. I have literally changed as a person. Everything I have been taught by AMC fits right in with my core values. I have never had to compromise anything while implementing these procedures.

When I joined AMC I thought I was doing good, making a decent living and running a good office. My base when I joined was 16,9000.00, but I have to admit that we had a large auto accident settlement come in a couple months before I joined AMC and that really affected my base. Realistically I was closer to 10-12K mo. My collections now are consistently 23-25K and growing rapidly. I use to think if I hit 20 my little office would be on top of the world. Well my concepts have expanded. I realize my little office is capable of doing a lot more! We have now set our sights on getting to the point we can hire an associate and open multiple clinics.

I just want to thank AMC. Also a special thank you to Dr. Eiken for all the help he has unselfishly given. Practice is now fun. We have specific goals and a clear-cut path on how to achieve those goals.

I am writing you to thank you for your help with my practice, and to extend my thanks to all the staff and coaches of AMC.

My journey with AMC began in January of 2006. I had been in practice for about 1.5 years, and had grown from 22 to about 50 plus patient visits per week. I was happy to have grown, but frustrated by some things.

First, we had stopped growing. My practice had peaked out, and I was unable to get past the 50 to 60 patient visits per week plateau. Secondly, my patients ran my practice, my life, and anything else they could. While my patient visit average was around 13 to 16, my patients dictated when they would come in, if they were radiographed, and if they needed an exam. Can you imagine?

About 3 per 10 new patients stayed for care.

Financially we were profitable, but barely. Our collections hovered around 82%, and my patients would raise a real hackle if I insisted they need any physiotherapy!!!

But now that I’m with AMC…..

Oh the joy of being in practice, and in control!

It is the end of May, and we will break our first goal, to see 400+ patient visits in one month. Our services are usually over $25,000 per month, and our collections are over $21,000, and here is the kicker, this began the month I joined AMC! For the year of 2006, our collections are 94%. When I got home from my first boot camp, I protocoled everyone. My patients, my wife, my mother, I protocoled them all!! I protocoled patients I had been seeing for weeks. My base is $11,878. We have collected on average over $20K since January, the month we joined! Last year my practice grossed just over $114,000. This year we will easily gross over $250K, probably closer to $300K.

But best of all, I am the Doctor in my practice. I have the freedom to use my clinical knowledge, and I recommend what I feel my patients need, and “let the chips fall where they may”. The funny thing is, my patients appreciate me more. They appreciate my professionalism and my paternalism!! That’s right, they WANT to be told what needs to be done! Once I got past my own fears (with the support and help of my awesome coach Dr. Randall), I became the one thing that I always wanted to be a Doctor!

Now I know I’ve just scratched the tip of the iceberg, and I’ve got some work to do, but I just wanted to let you know that once again, you have made a difference in the life of another Chiropractor.

Instead of having a “what have I gotten myself into” attitude, I have a “how high can’t we go” attitude. My stinkin’ thinkin’ is almost completely gone (old habits do indeed die hard), and my dreams are becoming a reality.

From my heart, thank you for being a beacon to those lost in the seas of chaos. The reason I can see my very bright future is because you (and the good Dr. Randall) have taught me how to hold my head up high. I am a Chiropractor.

I just wanted to drop you a note and say “thank-you” for establishing AMC. One year ago I took the “plunge” and joined your management company. As someone who is a bit slow to catch on to new ideas, I’m thrilled with the direction I have received.

During the past year, I’ve attended many of your seminars and had weekly conversations with Dr. Boch. He has been a real encourager to me and a big help to my practice. I would like to share with you what I have experienced since I joined AMC this year at the February, Phoenix boot camp. Tuesday when I returned back to my practice, I had a patient that I could easily transfer into AMC protocol Report 2 and prepare a financial report as well. This was my first attempt to begin incorporating AMC protocol into my practice and guess what? I butchered the presentation and my patient accepted care and prepaid!

The month of March I had one prepay and the month of April I had had 3 with the largest prepayment amount being $1773. I want to tell you that this is EXCITING and I’m just getting started! I’m actually getting paid before I perform all my work. This speaks volumes for chiropractic and me!! People trust my recommendation AND place real value in what chiropractic has to offer! I have to admit that pre-payment brings with it a larger sense of commitment to the patient to deliver my very best… (And a little fear of a possible request for refund if I do not deliver). Perhaps this is just my lack of real experience with your program.

Dear Dr. Owen and Tom:
I want to take this opportunity to tell you how my life has changed since I have been with AMC.

Prior to joining AMC I was discouraged and depressed because my practice was going nowhere but down. I found myself asking God if HE was sure that HE wanted me to be a Chiropractor, and if HE did, then I needed some HELP and I needed it NOW. I didn’t have anyone to talk to about my situation. I felt very alone and scared…no, terrified. I had changed careers late in my life, taking every penny I had in my retirement accounts and purchased an existing practice. It was a bad choice in that the doctor from whom I purchased it didn’t like being a chiropractor and the office wasn’t run very professionally. I made changes, lost some people and then began to get patients of my own. The practice was growing well for the first year to a year and a half. After that time, it started to go downhill.

I tried everything I could think of to turn it around. Then, we had some major staff problems and about the same time, my computer software crashed. The CA at the time couldn’t do anything but answer the phone and book appointments. We had a lot of staff turnover at that time, too. It was a roller coaster ride that I couldn’t find a way to get off of. It was my worst nightmare. I couldn’t sleep. I was at the office until the early hours of the morning with the computer person, trying to straighten out the mess, and then had to see patients. We had no idea of what any patient owed! I was exhausted, depressed and saw no light at the end of the tunnel, except the train heading for me.

I also have to tell you here that my husband is 72 years old and has many serious health problems (congestive heart failure, diabetes, two open heart surgeries with bypasses, and id in chronic kidney failure now due to his heart problems). Needless to say, he wasn’t (and isn’t) in any position to help either financially or emotionally. I was ALONE…just me and my pity party. As you say so often, reason and emotion can’t occupy the same space at the same time.

Months before, I had received a CD in the mail from AMC and had put it in a pile on my desk with other I had received from various management consulting groups. I had forgotten about it. One day over a weekend, I noticed the CD on my desk and played it. As I listened to the testimonials of other doctors and the desperation and hopelessness they had felt, I realized that I wasn’t alone. These other doctors had been where I was, and been through what I was going through. This organization, this AMC FAMILY restored HOPE to doctors like me. Here I was, trying to give hope to my patients when I had none myself.

After the CD ended, I went to the AMC website, looking for the date of the next bootcamp. Not finding it there, I waited until Monday morning and called first thing to find out about it.

My next challenge was to figure out how to get to Atlanta for the bootcamp. I didn’t have the money for the airfare, but the AMC family came through, via the Heart Fund. I had a close friend, another chiropractor, in Atlanta and I knew that I could stay with her that weekend. She knew my situation and packed a lunch for me each day so that I didn’t have to spend money for food. It was so humiliating for me to have to accept the charity of my peers, but I swallowed my pride because I knew that if something didn’t happen NOW, that I would be finding something else to do with the rest of my life.

As I sat in Track 1 that weekend, tears welled up in my eyes (like they do now as I write this and remember that weekend). Tom told me that if I did what AMC told me to do, that things would turn around. He also told me, “NO PITY PARTIES!” I agreed.

That weekend was a life-changing experience. I had already been with two other management consulting companies and had spent tens of thousands of dollars, with little to show for it. I doubted their sincerity. When my money was gone, so were they.

I came back to my office on Monday morning with a whole new ATTITUDE. I had ENTHUSIASM, but most of all, I had HOPE. I also had a lot to do!!

A couple days later, I received a call from Dr. Ava Carter, my coach, another of God’s Blessings to me. She got me started right away. She is my Guardian Angel. Her patience and kindness sustained me through the transition. I thank God everyday for her.

These months have been a Blessing from God. While I am still struggling and have a long way to go, I know that AMC is there for me. People care about ME and how I am doing. I know that if I am having difficulty with something, I am just a phone call away from help…and HOPE.

In closing, Dr. Owen and Tom, words cannot begin to tell you the deep respect and admiration that I have for you both, and how grateful I am that I listened to my innate and made that first trip to Atlanta.

Dear Tom,
I am sitting down to write you this letter with such joy and overwhelming feelings of satisfaction. Four short weeks ago I came back to the family who changed my life and my patients lives some six years ago.

As you well know I was part of AMC family back in 1999 and 2000, but for various reasons (most of which seem fairly ludicrous now) I chose to leave after my initial commitment was up. You and Dr. Owen both told me that my practice would not grow, and may even fall off when I left, but I chose to leave anyway. Well, you were right. My practice had basically stayed the same since 2000, and my attitude had really gone downhill in recent months. I was simply going through the motions of chiropractic for my patients and therefore my practice was giving me only that as well.

My life has taken some interesting turns during my time away from AMC and maybe I will get a chance to share some of that someday, but for now let me just share with you what has happened in the last month. My weekly stat sheet is right here beside me, and it has some wonderful numbers on it. I would like to share with you. The week before I started back with AMC my PV was 93 and my weekly collections were $4500. This week we saw 162 PV and $7775 in services! This is especially amazing to me because we have done absolutely NO outside marking at this point. This dramatic change in performance has to do simply with wearing my white coat, taking back control of my office, and telling my patients what they need instead of what I think they want to hear. No longer will I simply tell a patient who is pleading for answers to their pain to just come back next time you hurt. I cannot imagine how I ever got back to the point of doing that to my patients, but I had.

My coach, Dr. James Brown, has been an awesome inspiration to me and will no doubt help me achieve the goals I have set for my practice and myself in a very short time. When I began praying about taking my practice back, I had no idea God would open floodgates like this! I can’t wait to see what the next weeks hold and I look forward to seeing you in Atlanta in May.

I joined AMC after struggling to keep a family practice going that hadn’t changed with the times. Knowing that my practice needed some help was one thing, but figuring out how to make those transitions was another. Our old procedures (or lack thereof) and habits were simply inefficient and holding us back.

Since joining AMC and having the coaching of Dr. Rush I now see possibilities where there were once roadblocks. Simple changes have given me the confidence to take bigger steps. Dear Tom Owen:
You may have heard of me or not. My name is Mark S. Palazzo, D.C., I practice and live in Phoenix, AZ. I will be married this August for 14 years and have two loving boys, Nicholas 7 and Joel 4. I first joined AMC in March 2002 as a partnership practice. I was asked to join the partnership because my partner said he could help me. Well I was not doing well and just not growing in the partnership. That partner agreed to do AMC but felt he had all the answers. Well his personal life was falling apart and so was his business. He verbally and physically tried to threaten me. So it ended with attorneys and me moving out.

I bought a small practice and was following my CER’s. I had an average base of 11,500 with big swings. I tried some guy in CA who was supposed to help. He had some good ideas but it really did produce, again. I referred a newer doc Steven Ossipinski to AMC and he seemed to like it. I heard AMC was coming to Phoenix from Dr. Warlick’s letter. So I called him, he did not return my call for over several days. So I called mike Presiby down in Mesa who was doing AMC a while back. I talked with him and he did not feel it worked for him. I decided to call and register for the weekend down in Mesa. I sent in my distant client eval and stats.

I get a call from God, oh I mean Dr. Bearden, he was my first coach and I feel the best still. Oh Tom, just wanted to let you know in 2004 I made a CD of “made up mind” because I started to wear out the tape. We talked and he felt I have what it takes, I knew that. Dr. Bearden also stated that there has been a lot of changes since I last did AMC. He stated that I was probably lacking in efficiency and proficiency. So I told him I was going to go to the meeting in Mesa/Phoenix. Well you know what happens next. I start picking up on things that I miss and need to fix and improve. Started to revamp my goals with deadlines! NOT WISHES! Things were starting to look good and was excited to work with other doc’s in AMC. I was also excited to know Dr. Warlick’s office was a training center, only 20 minutes away.

Update: I have had my staff quit (still looking for new F/O), my proficiency and efficiency in continually improving and this months collections hit above $19,000! I made my first bill pay to AMC! I intend to send in at least one bill pay for $20,000! I do need and want to give thanks to my coach Dr. Brown who has been there for me 200%! I think we are still kind of feeling each other out. Dr. Bearden I want you to know I have the first “whatever it takes” key chain, on my office keys since 2002. The new one you sent me is in my white jacket. Dr. Warlick, his associates and staff have all been so helpful. Once I keep sending in those $20,000 checks. I then intend to have as many doctors in Phoenix perfecting AMC protocols. This will only ultimately make the 3.5 million people live longer and healthier. Doctors will be able to keep their practices open.

I Am Not A Pawn!

What an awakening this last month has been for me! I had a horrible month last month, my patient visits were down, and so were my collections. I asked my coach, Judy Biery what I could do right now, today to start to get new patients into my office. She gave me two strategies.

First she told me about the “Testimonial Tip”. She told that I could ask every patient that I see that day, if they are feeling improvement in their health condition because of the care that I am giving them. If they are, then I can ask them to fill out a testimonial questionnaire and to list anybody else that they think deserves the quality of care they are getting. She also told me to listen to the tape called “Testimonial Tip”. Well I listed to the tape, and realized how many referrals I had let walk out of my office every day that I have been in business. Hardly a day goes by that somebody doesn’t come in and make some kind of comment on how much better they are feeling. My usual and customary response was to express excitement, and congratulate them on their improvement. I found out however, that that is when the “Iron Is Hot”. That is the time to ask for a testimonial, and for referrals. I started implementing this strategy, and within four days, I had my first new patient from a referral through this program. It has continued daily from that point on. I will not go into any more details of the program, but I will strongly recommend that you listen to that tape, and DO IT!

The second strategy that Judy gave me was the Business Survey. I have done at least one of these per day since that phone call, and I find it very enjoyable. I have not seen any direct new patients from that, however I have seen a steady increase in my new patient visits. I am not exaggerating when I say that new patients are coming out of the woodwork. As I am writing this letter, my secretary tells me that another new patient just called to schedule an appointment. I know that this is an indirect effect of the efforts that I am putting forth in my business surveys.

I had a state association seminar that I was attending for CE credits one weekend shortly following this telephone conversation with Judy. This was in a part of the state that was a five-hour drive away. So Judy suggested that I take along some AMC tapes to listen to while I drive. She gave me a list of suggested tapes, which I took. All I can say is WOW! I got to the seminar all fired up, and could hardly wait for the drive home. I had a true epiphany. I am a Christian, and I believe in the power of prayer. Consequently, I pray every day several times per day. I think that my “outlook” so to speak, was not all that different than most other people. I prayed and acted as though I was a pawn in a game of chess. I would stand there on my square, and pray that God would move me to a square where I would succeed, or at least not get killed. Now I realize that I am not a pawn, but I am the chess master. My prayers are now that God will guide my moves, but then I MOVE! It’s like the story of a great hunter who was out hunting food for his family one day, and his bow broke. Now he could have cried and whined, and begged God for food to come to him, but instead he went to work making a new bow, and new arrows. When that was done, he prayed that God would guide him to where he could find food for his family. He then got up off of his knees and went hunting. That’s what we have to do. We have to act. There is an old saying, “Pray as though everything depended on God, then act as though everything depended on God, then act as though everything depended on us.”

Dear Dr. Owen, Tom, Dr. Osborne, and Dr. Brown:

This is a letter to update you on our progress. In the past, we’ve always enjoyed a consistent number of new patients. But we also had a retention problem. Some would follow through, some wouldn’t, and only a ahandful would stay on for maintenance care. We didn’t know the best way to handle our patients. And as a result, we fumbled for many months before joining AMC.

I joined AMC last year in Portland, and we’ve been working toward our goals ever since. We consistently work toward reaching new levels of practice. Last month (May 06) we reached another milestone for our practice and wanted to share our excitement with everyone.

For the month of May we reached $20,000 in collections!!! We’ve been working on this for over a year, and it feels great to finally reach this goal, and especially to understand that it isn’t impossible. We’re definitely planning on going higher as the months pass! We’ve set goals for June for new patients, patient visits, services and collections. We’re excited about our goals, and love the feeling of achieving what we set out to do!

Dr. Brown is our new coach and he’s excited about our progress. I know that he’s in our corner to help and support us to the level of success we’re looking for. Something important from the “It Works” book that we all need to learn is that “we are getting all we are entitled to or expect.” If you expect great things, great things will happen. If you don’t expect anything to happen, that’s what you’ll get. EXPECT THE BEST!
